Creativity, it has phases

Hello all! Though not always in creative mode, I'm always an artist and inspirational moments in life stick to the back of my mind waiting to take shape when I am ready to take pen to paper once more.

I would say that I'm dormant. If you're not in creative mode, what name do you give that phase?

I never thought about naming it, but I go into a hunting phase. I usually don't look at art but I actively look for inspiration in nature and everyday objects. Good question!

I've experienced dormancy a few times in the last 15 years. I tried to reach the surface recently by taking a watercolor sketch book upstairs with me to my in-law's. I tend to get creative while chatting, lol.

I ended up doing one painting with hues of blue and green. I was planning to edge the 'lines' with black ink later, but my mother-in-law said, "No, leave it as it is. See that line there? That's our Creek. See that one? That's the road. That area there is the marsh."

I raised my brows and said, okay then. It stays just the way it is.

I guess I'll have to frame it for them, lol.
