Hello Everyone.
My name is Rainey Council. I started drawing and painting almost a year ago. Its been a great journey so far and I wanted to branch out a little and get to know others that do the same. I came across Pete’s You Tube and liked what he had to say and the delivery. About me, I’m a 50-year-old man, I’ve been in the military most of my life and I am getting ready to retire and move into civilian life. Drawing and painting was something I picked up from my daughter and have now taken it as my own. I started in acrylic painting and quickly realized I needed to improve my drawing skills. So, I did pencil drawing for awhile along with acrylic. I wanted to try other things which led to pen and ink as well as watercolor and Gouache. I found I enjoy working in sketchbooks much more than filling up canvases. Canvases take up so much room and can be cumbersome to deal with.
Now I mostly do watercolor with a little bit of gouache overlay and pencil drawings with some pen and ink thrown in for highlights.

Spent the day on this one, still have some touching up and highlight stuff to do, but it’s coming along nicely. It’s the view from the dock from my childhood, I’m open to any advice or pointers.
