I finally got to finish watching your video today of the new Gansi set and I wanted to comment that I really liked your painting that you made with them, but the comment section disappeared. So you forced me to come here and sign up. Woohoo. I do have the 48 set, plus 3 of the smaller sets, but not this one you reviewed today. The 48 set feels more like guache, and I have read that they are used in Japan for the anime industry. The colors photograph better than regular watercolor as the anime is made for the screen. Have you heard that before? I loved your review of the new ones today and enjoyed the various ways you used to get them to separate. I'll try to remember that the next time I use them for a painting. Thanks for your fun video.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have not heard that before. They sit somewhere between gouache and watercolor. I don't think they layer as well but they also don't thin out as much as watercolor. It kind of acts like Indian red watercolor acts. These are much more transparent but not like a transparent watercolor. It's still more opaque.
