Hi Pete and everyone. I'm a youtube follower (the non-gran fan, oh that would make a cool band t-shirt, BioarchDr.mywife). I am a hobbyist and like to support small artists because art got my mental health through grad school. I'm not a pro with nothing to promote but joy and gratitude. I am typically a watercolorist- I like semi detailed, realish looking painting- landscapes and objects (never people). I DO use my paintings in my presentations of my research (I'm a professor) and do some art and science service in my organizations. Anyway- I have a point, just a sec.
One of the things I like that actually thwarts me is to cover all space on a paper and use many colors. So I still have a lot to learn about color theory and whatever that word is that means placing on the page. Therefore I tend to dabble in abstract and mixed media since wc pieces can't do this every time. So I wanted to share these 2 pieces which I only realized after like 3/4 way through were def Pete influenced. I will reply with them since thats on my phone. 1 is maybe unfinished, we'll see.
Regarding filling up a whole page. I used to do that regularly. I found that if I just make a mark somewhere on the page, I can usually keep a border of blank space between the formation of my drawing and the edge of the paper/canvas.
Hey! I was a professor for many years! Okay, I was on the faculty ... I totally understand using art to save your sanity. I wrote novels to save mine. 😃
Welcome to the group! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
